What is this?
MDBA General Meeting Thursday, June 8, 2023. Our General Membership meetings occur every 2nd Thursday of the month, 7PM to 9PM, doors open at 6:30PM. Come early to chat, meet beekeepers and find out about our bee club. Our meeting will be at the Pleasant Hill Community Center Pavilion where we will welcome our beekeepers and meet new members of our bee club!
We're excited that Robert MacKimmie will be joining us "live" at the Pleasant Hill Community Center to share his extensive knowledge and insights on beekeeping. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced beekeeper, Robert will provide valuable information on how to tackle the challenges posed by the varroa mite and minimize its negative impact - starting with your queen!
Rober has been tending bees for more than a quarter century, half of that time as a full-time professional beekeeper. Starting when beekeeping was practiced by a small number of ancient people, Robert has seen beekeeping transition from a time of rampant American Foul Brood infestations as the major ailment, to our current bevy of parasites spreading viruses, which result in bee collapses.
